Social Needs of Single Mothers in Tábor
MATOUŠKOVÁ, Sára
This bachelor's thesis deals with the social needs of single mothers in Tabor. The aim of this thesis was to map out the social needs of single mothers in Tabor - to find out what social needs single mothers have and to identify key problems in fulfilling these needs. Two research questions were established: 1. What are the needs of single mothers? 2. What are the key problems in fulfilling their social needs? To achieve this goal, a qualitative research strategy was chosen, using the method of questioning and the technique of semi-structured interviews. The research sample, which was selected by purposive sampling, consisted of single mothers living in the city of Tabor. Interviews were conducted with a total of 6 communication partners. The information obtained was then processed using open coding in the Atlas.ti program. Two categories were created from the processed data. The research results showed that the communication partners have several social needs on which they agree. These include the need for social contact, social support, financial autonomy, and safety and security. The results also revealed that communication partners often share the problems that prevent them from fulfilling their needs. The main problems are lack of time, balancing work and family life, and finances. The results also present forms of help that communication partners believe could aid in the easier fulfilment of their social needs. The results of this bachelor's thesis can be used as informational material for social workers or social service organizations. The bachelor's thesis could also help with improving public awareness about this topic.
The issue of advance maintenance
VLČKOVÁ, Věra
The issue of advanced alimony has been a much-discussed issue in the Czech Republic for more 15 years. The main goal of my thesis is to find out what impact the new noninsurance social benefit replacement alimony will have on recipients and and evaluation of actual alimony enforcement tools. In the theoretical part I deal with the delimitation of key concepts that serve to orient and grasp this social benefit. Within the framework of my research I deal with issues of the need to draw benefits from the system of state social support, the effectiveness of the announced offered assistance of the state, the payout agenda assessing the effectiveness of already existing enforcement tools. Due to the nature I chose qualitative research. A comparative method based on the analysis of data collection was used in the work, where the method of questioning and the semistructural interview technique were used to obtain outputs. The research sample was selected using a combination of contrast method and intentional selection in an ultimate number of 8 communication partners. The obtained data was processed by coding into categories. Research analysis shows that these communication partners welcome the idea of the adopted law and are going to claim this benefits. However, the effectiveness of this benefit fades into background as the duration of this benefit payment is limited to a period of two years. Aid set up in this way is a short-term solution and it is not a way out for the future. The vision of this social benefit, which will take effect on July 1st, 2021, already now shows shortcomings. Especially that it is not intended only for dependent children living in a very low-income families. This is an untested benefit and at the same time the child's income which will be included in the family's decisive income for the assessment of other claimed benefits which it may reduce. A targeted benefit for these families would be more effective and efficient than the aid announced this way. Current instruments of alimony enforcement have proven to be inefficient. Nor will the state be in a better position to recover these claims.

Kolmistrová, Aneta ; Záškodná, Helena (advisor) ; Kuchař, Pavel (referee)
This thesis is trying to find out what variables could affect the situation of single mothers on the labor market in the Czech Republic. First, there are identified nine variables that can affect their position on the labor market. Analysis of these variables leads to its subsequent division into two groups - individual and objective. In the context of individual variables, the focus is on a financial and material situation, support of wider family, job aspirations and a need for harmonization of work and personal life of single mothers. As objective variables is dealt with the social and family policy, possibilities of preschool and school facilities, access of an employer in terms of using a family-friendly approach and a risk of discrimination, a risk of unemployment. The subsequent empirical survey with the qualitative design utilizes personal experiences of single mothers from their activity on the labor market in the context of selected variables. Evaluation of the survey confirms six out of nine effects such as influencing variables. The thesis concludes evaluating of all the facts while there is a further demonstration of possible extension of this investigated issue. Key words: single mother, family, working life, personal life, harmonization, labor market
